Let’s go, a little word to feed the blog.
A really quiet week just finished. By starting to sleep again, everything becomes more appreciable. Ok, I did it the rough way : nights from 8pm to 6am or 5pm to 4.30am… “A l’ancienne“, like we say where I’m from, but at least it is saturday afternoon and I’ve been up for a few hours. Which is, in itself, seldom.
Last friday (a week ago), we finally celebrated our arrival in our place (3 months after having moved in…) : pendaison de crémaillaire or house warming in english. You got it: above all another occasion to spend some time between polyglots. Thirty or so persons came, among which a good part of them we did not know: everyone decided to introduce his or her friends to each other. That’s all good.
Here’s the opportunity to show you pics of my flat! And of the roof top, which has been greatly appreciated by friends. Pics of my room will be for later, maybe when our hypothetical future maid will have relieved me of the heap of togs that lie around, near the desk.

During the week, Gulshan and her flatmates’ maid, who lived with them, disappeared. Without a reason, from one day to the next. Reaction of the flatmates: “The agency will find another one for us tomorrow.” Day after day, Gulshan recovers from it by holding on to the only attept of explanation she has heard: the maid maybe thought that she could get more money somewhere else, so she tried her luck.
Besides that, when it comes to the daily life, well, like I said to my teacher Devasia yesterday morning, everything is a matter of concentration. Keeping the focus on one’s own machine, managing one’s biological pace while staying flexible, and keeping the eyes wide open in order to appreciate one’s everyday life, as simple as it may seem. Morning classes concentrate my daily intellectual effort, but I try, sometimes in vain, to study the texts a little bit at home, in the evening. In spite of a great appetite as regards to it, it has been weeks since the last time I watched a movie… even though I keep finding great ones on the net. It may change today: I’ve found the Cannes’ revealed Serbis (Brillante Mendoza, Philippines, 2008) and I fully intend to enjoy it. And still Californication – I don’t miss one episode. But of course, it’s the music that has the upper hand and which beats in the literal sense my days: I spend my time on the web digging, nosing around and often finding nuggets of all kinds. My Facebook friends know that because I continually flood the news feed page with my links. For those who are not there, and if you’re interested, there is my Twitter public profile, and my links page on the website I use, Sharein. By the way, you can consult my last 5 tweets on the present page, a few pixels below, in the right column.
My parents asked me to give them some help to find their way around in all the trips that I’ve done. Google Maps is not bad, but there is nothing like a lil’ Photoshop editing. The result is on the page Trips. The Indian space.
Other improvement of the blog: the Archives page. So we can find our way through the forty or so articles (already!). The Indian time.
Thanks again for following the blog! And see you real soon.
